Today's Story Highlights

3D Printing Takes a Shine to Liquid Metal
Researchers at NCSU have developed techniques to create freestanding
structures from liquid metal using 3D printers. One technique involves
stacking droplets. The droplets adhere to each other because of surface
tension, but that same surface tension prevents them from merging into
one larger drop. The team created a working proof-of-concept flexible
circuit using liquid metal wire bonds.

PRISM Pulled Microsoft Deep Into NSA Rabbit Hole
Although it initially denied involvement in the National Security
Agency's PRISM surveillance program, Microsoft has in fact worked
closely with U.S. intelligence agencies to monitor users'
communications, reportedly even helping the NSA circumvent its own
encryption technologies to do so, new documents from whistleblower
Edward Snowden suggest.

SolePower: Stepping Away From the Grid
Here's a charging method that could make a lot of sense. It's one that
isn't reliant on the sun to convert solar radiation into power; it also
isn't reliant on heavy batteries for its mojo. Instead, SolePower's
Kickstarter project aims to generate power kinetically with each step
you take. That's via a shoe insert, specifically, and it uses the same
principle as a hand-crank flashlight.

Advanced Task Killer Pro Gets Hung Software Out of Your Way
Since time immemorial, the Windows computer has been subject to RAM
issues -- in particular, the issue that there's generally never enough.
RAM is the fast-accessible headspace, or breathing room, in a personal
computer that's used by programs to do their thing, as opposed to hard
drive storage that's usually used for slower, mechanical file storage.

Yelp to Give Restaurant Delivery a Whirl
Yelp announced this week that it has partnered with local businesses and
startups to add food delivery to its platform. Now Yelp users in New
York City and San Francisco will be able not only to scan the site for
reviews of local restaurants, but also to order food and have it
delivered. Yelp is teaming up with about 100 local businesses, as well
as other delivery startups, to facilitate the service.
